Abstract

This article analyzes the distinctive development of the comedy genre in the creative progress of the Sirdaryo Regional Musical Drama Theater. In particular, it examines, through the example of the play “Afandi’s Five Wives” staged by directors Jo‘ra Mahmudov and Qutlimurod Yakubov in different interpretations, the elements of folk humor, stage dynamism, artistic portrayal of female characters, and expression of the national mentality. The study explores the harmony between folk creative heritage and modern theater aesthetics, the role of the acting ensemble, and the components of musical dramaturgy. The article holds significant theoretical and practical value in highlighting the stages of development of theatrical art in the Sirdaryo region.
