Abstract
The article discusses the role of the Qashqar rubob in contemporary performance
and orchestral practice within the folk instrument orchestra. The historical and cultural foundations
of incorporating musical instruments into the orchestra, as well as the instrument's structural,
timbral, and artistic features, are analyzed. Special attention is being paid to the functional
characteristics of the Kashgar rubab as a musical instrument and a solo instrument, as well as its
adaptation to the multi-part orchestral texture. It is concluded that the Kashgar rubab played an
important role in shaping the national-stylistic identity of the folk instrument orchestra and
preserving the traditions of musical culture.
