Abstract
Documentary film is a form of audiovisual art that focuses on depicting real events and
truth, and its success is often linked to the high-level performance of sound design. Sound designers in
documentary films create opportunities for a more vivid experience of the visuals, allowing deeper
communication of events and situations to the audience. Atmospheric sounds, the role of music, foley
effects, and dubbing are essential components of sound design, aiding in the accurate portrayal of reality and
enhancing emotional impact. This article discusses the technical and artistic aspects of sound design in
documentary films, its influence on expressing events within the film, and the psychological and artistic
interaction with the audience.
