Abstract

The article examines the significance of iconographic sources, thanks to which we have
an idea of the dance art in Central Asia before the beginning of the XX century. The works of archaeologists
and art historians in the study and fixation of choreographic art are also noted. An important stage is the
work of masters of modernity - filmmakers and photographers who have captured the elusive art of dance in
their work. Topical issues of preservation and digitization of historical documents, display of art at the
present stage in digital format should be raised at international scientific and practical conferences and
forums.
