Abstract

This article highlights the initial difficulties in the formation of Karakalpak theater, especially the problems associated with the shortage of female actresses. The life and work of the actor, playwright, director, and public figure Abdirahman Utepov, who made an invaluable contribution to the development of theatrical art in these difficult conditions and selflessly served at the beginning of his stage career, are widely covered. As one of the first founders of the Karakalpak theater, he strived to spread education, enlightenment, and culture among the people through art. The article provides detailed information about Utepov's stage works, their essence, social significance, as well as his directorial and mentoring activities. Despite his short life, he left his mark in history as a great artist who left a deep mark on the development of Karakalpak stage art.
