Abstract
The dance art of the Karakalpak people began to develop in the 1930s. The first dances
were staged in musical performances of the Karakalpak State Theater. In 1956, the dance and song ensemble
"Aykulash" was created. Its first choreographer Liza Petrosova laid the foundation for Karakalpak national
mass dances.
