Abstract
The article discusses the history of the emergence of the ballet genre, as well as the
periods of formation of the ballet genre in Uzbekistan and Karakalpakstan. The ballet "Ayjamal" is
considered the first national ballet of the Karakalpak people, and its genre features have been scientifically
analyzed.
