Abstract

This article analyzes the history of Karakalpakstan's cinematography, particularly the
technical and artistic development of the state institution “Karakalpakfilm”. The concept of conflict as a key
element ensuring the integrity of a film has been theoretically studied. Furthermore, the artistic and sounddirected characteristics, plot directions, achievements, and some shortcomings of the 2009 full-length
comedy “The Thief,” which marked a turning point in the history of Karakalpak cinema, have been
objectively analyzed.
