Abstract
Estrada is a modern genre of Uzbek musical art aimed at a broad audience. The purpose
and function of ensemble performance lie in applying a new approach to national heritage: while serving as
an integral part of ethnography or folklore, it simultaneously acts as a new form of folklore’s existence
within the context of concert performance. In this process, folklore material is drawn from everyday life,
adapted to the demands of the stage, and transformed into artistic works.
